Pacific Aegis Capital Management Completes Acquisition of a Hong Kong Non-Performing Loan Portfolio

Hong Kong — 17 September 2026

HONG KONG – Pacific Aegis Capital Management (“PACM”) has completed the acquisition of a non-performing loan portfolio from a financial institution in Hong Kong. The portfolio comprises senior secured loan facilities backed by commercial and residential real estate assets in the city.

The loans are secured by a first-ranking mortgage over a Grade-A commercial office asset in a prime district, together with additional real estate collateral across key locations in Hong Kong. The structure is intended to provide strong credit protection while supporting a work-out and the longer-term positioning of the underlying assets.

“This acquisition allows us to support Hong Kong financial institutions as they recycle capital and manage liquidity, while working out senior secured real estate credit against quality local collateral. It also reflects PACM’s position as a leading specialist in private credit and non-performing loans in Hong Kong, with a focus on complex, asset-backed situations in this market,” said Kenneth Li, Co-Head of Credit Solutions Group at PACM.

The transaction was originated and completed in Hong Kong, drawing on PACM’s on-the-ground credit, legal and work-out capabilities and its relationships with local financial institutions. Ashurst and Gallant acted as legal counsel to PACM on the transaction led by partner Daniel Lau and partner Andrew Wong respectively.

PACM Completes Its First Institutional Back-Leverage Financing Facility

Hong Kong — 16 September 2026

Pacific Aegis Capital Management (“PACM”) today announced the successful closing of its first back-leverage financing facility with a financial institution in Hong Kong.

The facility has been arranged against PACM’s existing senior secured, asset-backed loan exposure to a premium residential development in Hong Kong, and has been structured to enhance deal economics for PACM’s investors, while providing incremental funding flexibility on the underlying transaction.

The closing underscores PACM’s ability to work with institutional financing partners in support of its existing private credit activities, consistent with the firm’s focus on disciplined execution and risk oversight in delivering risk-adjusted returns to stakeholders.

“Closing this facility with a financial institution lets us improve investor outcomes on a quality Hong Kong residential development without changing the underlying senior credit. That is a different tool from an NPL purchase, and it shows we can take a project from origination through institutional financing,” said Biff Cheng, Co-Head of Credit Solutions Group at PACM.

The financing was completed in Hong Kong. Ashurst acted as legal counsel to PACM on the transaction, led by partner Daniel Lau.
